Our Mission

To #LIVELOVEBE by providing an enriching summer experience where children can
explore, learn, play, and grow. Seedlings summer camp is a 10-week program running from June 1-August 5 for rising 1st through 6th graders whose parents are seeking a safe and enriching summer childcare program.

Our Philosophy

Just like seeds, children need the right conditions to thrive and grow. We believe that
every child can reach their highest potential in a safe and nurturing environment. Our
child-centered approach focuses on fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence as
they explore weekly themes and socialize with their peers.

Curriculum + Care

Kids need a space where adventure and imagination coexist. Seedlings summer camp
will provide children with a well-rounded experience consisting of indoor & outdoor
games, arts & crafts, fun, and engaging learning opportunities, and a once-a-week swim or water play day. We hope to bring in some of our creative, community partners to help enrich your child’s summer experience.

Your child will be following a weekly schedule tailored to the weekly camp theme. The purpose of these themes is to allow children to explore different interests and engage them in the weekly activities.

Seedlings staff will serve as camp counselors leading small and whole-group activities.
Seedlings staff will also provide ample opportunities for children to interact with their
peers in a safe, sanitized, and socially distanced environment.

At Seedlings, we strive to cultivate a classroom culture that puts children first and
prioritizes communication, respect, and relationships over rote compliance, so our
disciplinary practices incorporate mindfulness and align with positive and gentle
parenting methods.

To ensure each child has the attentive care they need throughout the day, we take staffing ratios seriously. In addition to staffing to the student-teacher ratio requirements of the state of Tennessee, Seedlings also adheres to the Safe Sanctuaries policies of the United Methodist Church, providing at least two teachers for every class, regardless of class size, and an open-door policy for all classrooms.
